Explaining the pick:

I mock Zoosman to Dallas for a couple of reasons:

First, the Mavericks could save some money by stashing the EuroLeague U20 MVP. This allows for him to continue developing on the dominant Maccabi Tel Aviv team, while also saving money long term for Dallas.

Second, if the Mavs decide to bring over Zoosman, they’re getting a good player right away. While Zoosman needs to continue improving his jump shot, particularly in speeding up his release, he plays well at a high pace and can get to the basket well. Zoosman thrives in transition and has great touch around the rim. While he isn’t explosive and generally plays below the rim, he has good quickness and length to help him successfully finish at the rim. His length is also important, as his long arms could make him a threatening two-way slasher in the NBA. If the Mavs can continue to polish his jump shot, Zoosman could be a steal at 37.

Either route that Dallas takes, whether it be stashing or bringing him over right away, Zoosman should be close to NBA ready considering his success in international play. Immediately, he’d likely be a 7th to 11th man on the Mavs, but could be a protypical Carlisle player that thrives in his limited minutes. Zoosman should be considered one of the top targets for Dallas, as he will be one of the best players available, if available at 37.
