Thanks to Tankathon’s draft simulation, I gathered 30 of the sharpest draft personalities on Twitter with a random draft order. I tried to pool together as many NBA Draft pundits that know each team very well, so generally each team will be represented by a fan of that team or someone who is deeply familiar with their team’s roster construction and team needs.
How it works:
Each team was required to honor their picks for the first 45 selections. No trades were allowed in this time-frame. However, after pick 45, teams were permitted to sell or buy picks as freely as they would like. We voted on trades and made sure they were fair and not one-sided. The main benefit of this method is to keep it realistic so that teams like Boston and Philadelphia, who have limited roster space, are not taking 4+ players that have no chance to be on the team. As a bonus, after the completion of the draft each team came up with their top 3 undrafted free agents they would like to see their team target from the pool of players available in this mock draft.
