Overall:
Marcus Zegarowksi is an undersized combo guard with a lightning-fast first step, ability to shoot the ball, and run pick & roll offense. Zegarowski didn’t measure well at the combine, recording a square frame that doesn’t pair well with his areas of improvement, including finishing at the rim. Zegarowski missed several point blank shots at the rim, but the ease for defenses to stop his momentum both at the rim and in getting to the rim is a concern for his NBA upside. Another area Zegarowski needs to become more consistent at is pull-up shooting. His base can abandon him at times, which makes him lack stability and overall consistency in shooting over shot contests.
Zegarowski also needs to become a consistent playmaker. While he didn’t struggle with turnovers often at Creighton, he was inconsistent in creating for others beyond basic reads. However, he is great at finding cutters and navigating pick & rolls offensively, which could be a crucial area for him to stick in the NBA. Look for Zegarowski to be a two-way contract candidate immediately after the draft.
